For the fast shutter speed photo in the bottom right photo, I used the shutter speed 1/250. The ISO was 800 and the WB was on automatic. The action that I froze was water being poured into a fish tank that had water in it. I was close to the tank looking straight on. I turned the photo into black and white using the grayscale and changing the levels. This way you can clearly see the positive and negative space. The image on the bottom left is at a slow shutter speed of about 1/8. The ISO was 800 and the WB was set on automatic. The outside of the image shows the most blur. I was close up to the object and I was looking straight on. The tools that you can see are shape and pattern.
Painting with Light
To take the first photo in the slide show, we had the shutter speed of the camera on about 6 seconds. The light source that we used was a string of colored Christmas lights. We achieved this effect by 2 people holding the ends of a string of colored lights and then swinging them around like a jump rope which created a spiral.
Before and After
Toy Color Correction
Aperture
The image on the top right has a shallow depth of field. The f stop that I used was 4.2. The ISO setting was 400 and the WB was set on auto. The second image down on the left has a large depth of field. The f stop was 20, ISO was 25600 and the WB was on auto. The first photo is better because I like how it focuses on only one thing. You want to use a shallow depth of field when you only want to focus on one thing and not the background. Like a portrait of someones face. A large depth of field is better when you want everything in focus like a group picture where some people are in the front and some are in the back.
